PRIORITIES

Focused on the services Castro Valley relies on

01

Public Health & Safety

Protecting the public health and safety of our Castro Valley community is a top priority. I will continue working with the board on strategic planning and policies that keep our sewer system well maintained and reliable, while providing oversight of trash and recycling services for residents and businesses.

Having served on the board since 2021, I understand how important these everyday services are and the responsibility we have to make sound decisions. My focus will remain on protecting our community and maintaining the quality of the services we depend on every day.

02

Ratepayer Value

Residents and businesses deserve good value for the rates they pay. Because I pay the same rates as everyone else in our community, I understand the importance of responsible financial decisions.

I will continue to provide strong financial oversight, carefully consider spending and future needs, and weigh the impact of board decisions on ratepayers. My goal is to maintain quality services while keeping ratepayer value at the forefront of our work.

03

Environmental Stewardship

Environmental stewardship is an important part of CVSan’s work, from responsible wastewater management to effective recycling and waste programs. I will continue working with the board to evaluate and support policies and programs that can reduce our community’s environmental impact and protect the environment we all share.

Having lived in Castro Valley and spent my career teaching here, I have a deep connection to this community and care about its future. I will bring that perspective to board discussions and support practical approaches that benefit our community and our environment.

SERVING CASTRO VALLEY

The work behind reliable everyday service

CVSan’s work includes sewer collection and infrastructure, recycling and waste services, environmental protection, long-term planning, and customer communication.

INFRASTRUCTURE RELIABILITY

Maintaining and replacing sewer infrastructure

Reliable sewer service requires ongoing inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement of aging infrastructure. CVSan’s capital projects address needs in streets and easements throughout the community.

These projects protect essential public infrastructure while requiring careful coordination with residents, businesses, contractors, and other public agencies during construction.

DP 98 SEWER RELOCATION PROJECT

Responding to erosion near San Lorenzo Creek

District Project 98 was an emergency project involving the repair or relocation of four sewer mainlines and the addition of two new sewer mainlines in an easement between Craig Court and Moyers Street.

One existing sewer mainline needed to be abandoned because it was in close proximity to the bank slope of San Lorenzo Creek, where severe erosion had occurred over recent years.

Estimated project cost: $271,433

RECYCLING & WASTE SERVICES

Oversight of collection and disposal services

In addition to sewer collection and treatment responsibilities, CVSan oversees recycling, organics, and garbage services for Castro Valley. Reliable collection, responsible disposal, and effective recycling programs are part of the District’s everyday work.

Kristy’s focus is on maintaining dependable service while considering ratepayer value and the environmental impacts of the District’s programs and policies.

WHY I’M RUNNING

“The quiet excellence our community depends on.”

I am seeking reelection to the Castro Valley Sanitary District Board of Directors to continue delivering the quiet excellence our community depends on.

Think about the peace of mind you have when your sewer, recycling, and waste services work perfectly. That quiet reliability does not happen by accident. Since 2021, I have been proud to serve on your Board of Directors, collaborating with our staff to ensure our award-winning agency delivers these essential services.

As a longtime resident and retired CVUSD teacher, I care deeply about our families and businesses. My active personal involvement across our community gives me a unique vantage point to represent you effectively as I set balanced policies, approve budgets, and carefully protect your hard-earned ratepayer dollars.

By focusing on smart strategic planning and infrastructure reliability, we have kept our vital systems running smoothly. This balanced management ensures our district remains transparent and responsive while successfully maintaining competitive service rates and delivering exceptional value to our town.

I do not need the spotlight. I simply want to keep doing good work to protect public health and our local environment. I would be honored to have your support, and I respectfully ask for your vote.
